Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Suandok Imputation Server at sis.suandok-bioinformatics.org (the "Service"), operated by the Suandok Bioinformatics Unit (SBU), CMUTEAM, Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University ("we", "us"). By creating an account or submitting a job you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. The Service
The Service provides genotype phasing and imputation (Eagle, Minimac4 and GLIMPSE2) against public and institutional reference panels, free of charge, for academic and non-commercial research. The Service is under active development and may change, be interrupted or be withdrawn at any time.
2. Research use only — not for clinical use
Imputed genotypes are statistical estimates and may contain errors. Results must not be used for diagnosis, treatment, clinical decision-making or individual genetic counselling. Any clinically relevant finding must be confirmed with an accredited, validated laboratory test.
3. Your responsibilities
- You confirm that you have the right to upload and process the data you submit, including participant consent and ethics committee approval where required, and that your use complies with applicable law, including Thailand's PDPA.
- You must de-identify data before upload — remove names, hospital numbers and other direct identifiers from sample IDs.
- You must not attempt to re-identify individuals, including individuals in our reference panels.
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for downloading your results within 5 days, before they are deleted.
4. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the Service, including by: submitting data unrelated to genotype imputation; attempting to access other users' data or our systems without authorisation; interfering with the Service or overloading it on purpose; or using automated tools to submit jobs in a way that prevents fair use by others. We may limit, suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
5. Reference panels
The Northern & Ethnic Thai (Hill Tribe) reference panel is institutional data of SBU, Chiang Mai University. You receive imputed genotypes for your own samples only; the panel itself is not distributed. Public panels (such as 1000 Genomes) remain subject to their original terms.
6. Data and results
You keep all rights to the data you upload and to your results. We process your data only to provide the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy. Uploaded files and results are deleted automatically 5 days after the job finishes (the job-completion email tells you the deletion date), so please download your results promptly.
7. Acknowledgement
If results from the Service contribute to a publication, please acknowledge the Suandok Imputation Server and the Suandok Bioinformatics Unit, Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University, and cite the underlying tools and reference panels.
8. No warranty and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, availability or fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of the Service or its results, including loss of data or interruption of service.
9. Changes and termination
We may update these terms; the "Last updated" date shows the current version, and continued use means you accept the changes. You may stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time.
